Put a deposit on a wheaten terrier today

I have wanted a Wheaten Terrier since I worked out aristocratic pets and had a client that came in on a regular basis with her wheaten. Normally I'm not a fan of buying Dogs from Breeder but I have tried for years to try to adopt a dog. Shelters don't normally get them which is why they are considered rare. Rescue groups I have watched for years but it seems like the only dogs getting turned in had issues. Since I have two adult dogs especially when one is a pit if there is a rescue with a good dog, I not someone they consider.  So i came to the realization that I was going to have to buy a puppy. Plus a puppy would definitely be easier to integrate into the pack than an adult dog, so today I put a deposit on a male pup today with a breeder I found online. I was impressed with how much information their website gave and how great the parents look.  This breeder isn't local and I don't love the idea of shipping a dog but I know my mother did it for Labs before and it seems like this breeder has tons of experience doing it.

I'M SO EXCITED! I plan on calling him Benj (Benjamin)

For more information  on the breed for those not familiar with them...

Hens enjoying some watermelon on a hot day

First snake found in my chicken coop.

I pushed it off with a shovel but it slathered away before i could get to its head to kill it from within the coop and when i run out of it to that side its was gone, no where to be seen. Hooefully done for good!

Update: The next day I found what I assume is the same snake on the shed near the coop so it was killed. It had to go since it was obivously hanging around for eggs or something.

Meet the new hen,Lilly

Saw a fb post for some chickens for sale and decided to buy this one from a local backyard breeder. Meet Lilly. She had to get a bath on day one because she had poop on her back. She is bossy but yet still sweet and doesn't mind being handled. Hen count at 9 now.
