Merry Christmas

My ideal Christmas would be something like this,  instead of the 77° weather that we had this year. Maybe next year! Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!

Making grandma June's cornbread

Nothing makes it feel more like Christmas then eating my grandmother Junes's cornbread recipe. I just had to make it for myself.

Bye bye cell phone and current provider.

In April I decided to trade in my old iPhone since it was out of storage and started my own plan. So I researched a lot online with all major providers. Asked friends, took fb poll and that all lead to me going with sprint for network and Samsung 6s edge since it was the newest, bestest at the time.  Sprint coverage was less then I expected right away. I mainly decide to go with sprint since that is who my boss use. Every week I've had my phone these last 7 months I get a notice a "roaming data". Basically about 45 days and I regret it going with Sprint and was already past the 30 day deadline of being able to reverse the lease (which i didn't understand it was at signup) and get any refund. Definitely felt stuck and called customer service many times however they claimed it was a different rebate and blah blah blah it was always in their favor basically. Even when I had connection issues they said it was my Wi-Fi and call my internet provider and of course my internet provider said everything's working fine wish I need to be true since my smart TV had no problem connecting to the Wi-Fi. I'm really started to  hate sprint which probably colored my feelings about my cell phone.
Lucky for me while at work today at T Mobile representative walked in and ask if I was happy with my provider. I am immediately said no but that I was stuck with them. She offered me a buyout and the contract which I have heard T Mobile does & advertise. Since I never use the edge features I went ahead and decided to go with a new phone since I lost my phone and no I can't keep it and have to mail it back. I could have ordered another samsung galaxy s6 edge which is now a double-edged screen but there are many things about my iPhone I do miss after having this phone for 7 months. I have to wait for my phone to the email so we'll see how this goes as far as the process of switching in the buyout. I will be glad to have Siri back as well. I went with the smoke gray color.

A firm believer in adoption of pets....but I'm buying a dog.

I am a person that stands for and preaches about adopting dogs over buying them and I still believe that even though I I decided to buy a puppy from a breeder. And not even a local breeder so my puppy has to fly from the midwest. I've said in the past that anybody who flies a dog in the Cargo part of a plane doesn't love their pet, and overall I still believe that.  Growing up I exprienced nothing but family pets that came from breeders. My mom even breed our yellow lab a couple of times. And then moving here we flew our pet here.  Then in high school and college i Worked in a grooming salon for dogs for 5 years I saw mostly breeder puppies and the owner of the shop I worked for defines a puppymill (in the best way possible). In my twenties I  came to adopt my two current dogs. Once I had my own home and yard for another I knew I would get a third. I really wanted my next dog to be a wheaten terrier since I feel in love with the breed while working in the before mentioned groomers. This dog sparky basically lived there and I loved "the wheaten greetiing" he would give. So after buying my house I started to look for the right wheaten to adopt. Searched on petfinder and different wheaten specific rescues and sites trying to find the right one. My only true conditions were it being a male, since i have 2 females. And had to get along with dogs. I found after about 2 years of searching almost daily that in was not so easily done. Most wheatens that are giving up since they are a rare breed have some type of issue. With the addition making it 3 total I was looking for something that would be an easy transition.  Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect a prefect dog but in looking I found only dogs that required more work and questionable factors then would be responsible. And then when I did stumble  upon a couple possible right pups as soon as I applied and said I had 2 bully type breed dogs I heard nothing back from the source for the adoption. So then I even started to compromise on what I really wanted and started looking at other breeds I started just consider any shaggy male dog. But again when I would submit an application for any dog from a rescue group I heard very little back in response.  There were a couple dogs I considered adopting that were in out of shelters but shelters tend to know little about the dogs true personality and normally I decided the long drive wouldn't be worth the gamble. If I found a dog in a local shelter it was normally gone by the time I got there. Then I even tried to compromise on the sex of the dog and was looking at a female that need a good home that a friend with fostering  but again someone else got there first . It really was quiet heartbreaking. So after years passed and I still hadnt added to pack and still very much wanted to. I don't know why I want a third dog so bad but I do. You only live once and realize that I didn't want to comprise on the breed because it would probably be a decade before I add to be pack again and I didn't want to wait so I searched for available puppies and found my boy.
I'm excited, nervous and happy with my decision. I don't consider my principles comprised and know I give all my dogs a great home.  I still believe someone should try to adopt a dog before they buy a dog but this experience has made me realize that sometimes buying a dog is the best route for one to take. After all the dog already exists and needs a good home.

Benji at 7 weeks

Still 2 more weeks before my baby pup comes home but I did receive a picture update today from the breeder.
