Hide & Seek with Benj today

Benj & me after our hide & seek adventure today!!! Benj was in the backyard for a couple hours and I went to let him him; discovered him missing. I called, covered the yard to make sure and Yep he was gone! I jumped in the car to look and search the neighbor. No luck and anyone I asked Hadn't seen anything. I came home & called for him from the backyard again. As I was calling I heard dogs in the distances barking louder then they had, so jumped the wire fence and went towards the barking. Which was in the neighborhood waterwell land. As I called I finally see Benj running to me. WHAT A DAY! 1+hour of him gone, oh and did I mention it was raining in that hour +! Thankfull for finding him & that he was safe! Now just to figure out how he got out...

Sorry I've been mia...been busy with diy projects

Sorry I've been M.I.A. ...been busy with diy projects in my free time. But also been busy working and for those who don't know I spend all day on the phone and with my cell nearby so I like to get home after work and plug in the cell for the night and just veg out with the dogs, chicks and tv. And when I do have my cell in my hands at the house I have been researching all these projects. And because I'm OCD about these things One project lead to another and each has my house feeling more like me every day. I will catch the blog up with many new post over the holiday weekend if work slows down but been busy working to pay for all of this....and duty calls.

Upgrading the Jeep

For the last 4 years I've been driving my 2011 patriot. It was my first Jeep and now I'm a jeep girl and overall love it.   And with my dogs and activities like hiking and camping (with my dogs) my cars are well lived in.  I'm not the best about keeping up with the detail cleaning (byproduct of living with OCD neat freaks all my life...they always cleaned so I didn't have to). But under the hay and mud my car was in great condition....until...one day a several months ago. I was just driving my lovely jeep on my way home when one of my neighbors two small Chihuahua type dogs ran out into the road and even though I was going maybe only 20 per hour I still had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting them and just happened to be carrying groceries in my passenger seat. And the commotion of suddenly stopping the groceries slammed into the dash which contained a gallon of milk. Of course at first I was more concerned about making sure the dogs were OK and as the neighbor was running to come gather her dogs, I looked down and noticed the gallon of milk I had just bought spewing all over the interior of my car. Soon as I saw it, I handed the gallon of milk and and said please throw this away and drove home and immediately started cleaning the mess up. Right away I soaked up all the milk and got Dawn soap and water and clean the carpets and upholstery and the next day it needed it all over again. For about a month or so it was horrible. The smell of rotten milk consumed the car even after many cleaning attempts with different cleaners. Couple months after it happened and I was used to living with it my boss happen to have his fish tank at work overflow to where he had to get the carpets at the shop cleaned by a mobile detailing service, while they were there he offered to have my car carpet detailed for me. (Perks of my boss being my brother in law) Immediately in the carpet made such a difference but the milk that seeped into the vents & the speakers to this day is there and although it didn't smell it did show a white residue. You can imagine this wasn't the most appealing thing especially when I was still making payments on the car. So I decided that it was time to trade in old gray. I had planned on keeping that jeep until it lived a long fulfilled life so I stayed within the jeep brand and got a brand new jeep and truly plan on keeping it 'forever'. The last brand-new car I owned was back in 2001. It was a good car but being the first car I bought I didn't negotiate the best deal. Luckily since then I've learned how to negotiate I was able to come up with a deal that would work for me to trade in the patriot for a new 2017 jeep renegade. Of course dealing with a dealership on a trade-in they didn't want to give me anything for the trade and they use the justification that I had an airbag recall and they deemed it unsellable since there wasn't a fix for that recall. I explained to him that he sold me the car that way and I wasn't giving away a car that was in good working order and as I know they would sell it at auction and it would be the third time that this particular dealership 'Sold' this particular car and Of course it helped that car dealerships have a parking lot of inventory that they don't want to sit on. Thank God since all the negotiation took longer than expected my brother had taken care of my pups so I could get the deal done. This 2017 had all the upgrades my last jeep had as both were limited editions. That is one thing I have learned with buying cars that if you can afford it don't buy the standard addition. This new Jeep also has some added perks that I haven't had before like a navigation system so now I don't have to drain my cell phone battery trying to get places. Also the fact that I have dogs and now leather seats plus the whole milk situation from the last jeep I decide to pay $20 more a month for lifetime protection of the exterior and interior of the car. Normally I would've said that's a waste of money but after my last experience it's nice to know I have a safety net. I've decided to name him Rocky since he is Italian parts assembled in the USA. Rocky sure is sexy if I don't say so myself.

Dog room update

My house really is going to the dogs. I decided to order runs instead of new crates for the dog room. Below are the process in pictures.

The before

Benj is wondering what's going on and what I'm doing to his room.

I do love this room's floor
Empty room.

Ready to assemble.
I ordered Kenneaster 4x4x6 (with over outdoor runs). Without the cover its still 5ft tall.

One up two to go. The room is only 9x10 so a 4x4 would not be practical. I was thinking of doing them all as 2x6's but it was too tight for Sydalee to turn around easily. For Lucy and Benj they seemed prefectly comfortable. So I decided to do 2 as 2x6s and Sydalee's as the 4x4.

Almost there...
 And done!
The dogs approve

It's officially the dog room.

Big day off

Had some daytime chores that I had to schedule for a day off during the week so in the last 10 hours I have had my new mattress delivered by rooms to go, had somebody to come out take a look at my siding/exterior issues and had a mobile groomer out for benj!  My dad also stopped by.

My new bed is awesome so far after an afternoon nap. That 30 minute nap at web more refreshed than ever after sleeping on my old bed that I got off my mom's client that was too firm.

Benj decided right before his grooming appointment to roll in the leaves. His before pic:
